OVERVIEW
Born and raised in West Palm Beach, Kathleen Beesley is a Florida native. After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee (Go Noles!) where she double majored in English Literature and Spanish, she went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Barry University’s Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law as an Academic Scholarship recipient. During her time in law school, Ms. Beesley worked as a Certified Legal Intern for the Office of the Public Defender of the Ninth Judicial Circuit and clerked for Chief Justice Donald A. Myers, Jr., of the Ninth Judicial Circuit, in Orlando, Florida.
After law school, Ms. Beesley worked with the Office of the Public Defender of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa, Florida, before working for one of Florida’s largest insurance defense firms, with a focus on first-party property claims. Ms. Beesley has a unique understanding of how homeowner’s insurance claims are handled through her experience working for insurance companies. She also has extensive in-court litigation and trial experience, which enables her to defend homeowners aggressively and effectively against large insurance companies.
In addition to her legal career, Ms. Beesley has been an active volunteer with charities and organizations across Florida, such as Bay Area Legal Services, Night of Freedom from Addiction, Project Hope for the Homeless, and the Restorative Justice Project. She is an active member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers. In her free time, Ms. Beesley enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Brewzer.
